man-man ashtray

Made from clay, acrylic paint, UV resin, cotton and denim; Man-Man is a collectable ashtray that doubles as an incense holder. Growing up I loved watching the PJs so much, that show is what got me into sculpting with clay and what inspired this piece's face and outfit. The reason for me hand sewing the body instead of sculpting it from clay is I’ve wanted to sew a little ragdoll ever since seeing Tim Burton's film "9" for the first time. One night I was up late rewatching all the Step Up movies and got the idea to combine clay sculpting with sewing. Why? Beats me, idk dude.
