clown school

The Clown School installation was heavily inspired by Steve-O of Jackass, iykyk. His fearless, sometimes unsettling approach to filming his stunts influenced a generation and is responsible for a lot of the fast paced risky content we see online today. Steve-O graduated from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1997 and I just so happen to have an obsession with clowns; so I wanted to make something that awakens the viewer’s inner “professional idiot” when they interacted with it. Equipped with a VHS recorder that sends live feed to a HD projector, a guitar/television/DVD player, a clown mask and student's desk this installation is what I imagine clown school would be like in a fever dream.
