About Me

I’ve been told that my first recognizable drawing ever was at 3 years old in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was a turtle drawn with a little pencil and I still have him. I mention that turtle because in a way it explains why I chose to be an artist. The turtle is my creation but the cherished memory of me drawing him is my mother’s, not my own. Early in life I learned not only do I love creating, but also that my creations leave a mark on others that they will live with for the rest of their days. Much like the words that we use to communicate every day, art is a form of expression that can help or harm people, uplift or put others down, and like words people may not remember every detail of what was expressed but they’ll never forget how it made them feel. I create to feel and to help others feel something that will stay with us forever.

My name Kuro no Akachan means Black Baby, why I chose it is somewhat self explanatory (well, the black part is) but the title of “baby” has always been a part of my identity due to being the baby boy of my family. Still to this day my mother introduces me as “Chauz, the baby boy” whenever my brothers introduce me it’s always “this is my baby brother” and every time my father sees me he yells “BABY BOIII” as loudly as he can.
